About Jack

Career

I started learning game development at the start of 2020 as a hobby, trying to experience all aspects of the development process. I found joy in engineering and design, and continued to hone my practice before joining the indie startup Studio Javelin in mid 2021. After joining, my eyes were opened to how much I had learned while working on engineering gameplay, AI and systems while bridging interdisciplinary communication.

Now, I’m looking to fully transition to game development and make a name for myself in the industry.

Passions

During my free time, I like to study and work toward my passions: indie game development, and creating my own Tabletop RPG.

While not working on projects, I enjoy spending time with my wife, crunching game statistics for optimal builds, reading manga and light novels, and playing D&D with friends.

What my teammates had to say
"When Erick and I began our interview process for what was to be his replacement engineer, little did I know that what we'd be getting was an all star. Your contributions in both engineering and design have taken our team and game to a new level. Your upbeat attitude and enthusiasm in taking on hairy and difficult problems is inspiring. I'm proud to call you my partner on this fun journey to create great entertainment and art."
Sean Mozarmi
Project Lead
"I do know what you do in the art department and know that you really are an irreplaceable and important member of my small art team. A worthy assistant if I’ve ever saw one and a damn funny one at that. Good to have you in the team."
Clemens Steuxner
Artist
"Joining the team at the same time, I always thought we would be programming partners tackling issues and difficulties with the project together, which I believe we are. However I also hold this hidden admiration for you. Whenever I see you come up with design ideas or when I code review your various code refactors and implementations I get impressed again and again each time. Not only is your code clean and easy to read but it is also extremely smart and sometimes done in ways I would have never thought of."
